The emergence of begomoviruses is closely associated with the increased prevalence of their vector, the whitefly Bemisia tabaci, and the diseases caused by this group of viruses have caused extensive losses to many crops including cassava, tomato, cotton, tobacco and others. My research interest is to find out the molecular mechanisms of virus transmission by the whitefly B. tabaci. Up to now, most aspects of the molecular mechanisms are poorly understood. Thus I hope that I can make progress in this area of research, and eventually contribute to the improvement of management of these pests and agricultural development.

I obtained my BSc degree in Plant Protection from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2016.
