The whitefly Bemisia tabaci species complex causes severe crop losses through direct feeding and transmission of begomoviruses. In the research of whitefly, until now the genetic manipulation is limited to RNA interference. In recent years, CRISPR/Cas9 system becomes a widely used genetic manipulation technology. My major research interest is the construction of transgenic whiteflies via CRISPR/Cas9 technology. Currently, my study focuses on the knockout of the whitefly genes that determine the color of eyes.

I obtained my BSc degree in Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University in 2017. During my BSc research, my study focuses on the gas exchange capacity of different leaf colors in Photinia serrulata.
