Begomovirus is the largest known genus of plant viruses containing ∼ 322 species and they are transmitted exclusively by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci species complex. This group of viruses has caused devastating damages to a number of economically important crops, such as tomato and cotton worldwide. Salivary glands of different species of whiteflies have been shown to exhibit specificity in receiving different viruses. My studies focus on the identification of possible receptors in the salivary glands that determine entry of a given virus into whitefly primary salivary glands.

I graduated from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2017 with a BSc degree in Plant Protection.
