Heritable bacterial symbionts are ubiquitous in insects and can be roughly divided into two categories, primary symbionts and facultative symbionts. Symbionts within the insects of Hemiptera are related to nutrient provision, protection against enemies or stress and reproductive systems.

My studies focus on the bacterial symbionts of the whitefly Bemisia tabaci complex, specific as follows: the genomics of symbionts in different cryptic species of the B. tabaci complex, and the interactions between whiteflies and symbiotic bacteria.

I obtained my BSc degree in Agriculture (Plant Protection) from China Agricultural University in 2016.
